Save The Waves Coalition

Greg Benoit, Board President

Greg has over 14 years integrating coastal and marine planning and policy with science and technology. Having served as a NOAA Coastal Services Center Coastal Management Fellow, Chair of the Central Coast Joint Data Committee, and on numerous Federal and State policy committees, Greg is currently employed by the California Coastal Commission's Technical Services Division, working on a four-volume guidebook series to coastal access in the state, "Experience the California Coast."

Greg first became interested in coastal resource management during a coral reef field course at the Center for Marine Resource Management in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of California Santa Barbara, and completed his MS from Oregon State University's College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences in Marine Resource Management.

Greg lives and surfs in Santa Cruz with his wife and two daughters, and is also an accomplished drummer, playing at times in certain dank, seedy establishments in the San Francisco Bay Area with the band CNB.
