| Male Point,
Maldives
Male is a small island with a massive
population of 100,000 people squeezed
into 2 sq/km. Coastal erosion has been
very problematic on the island so seawalls
of tetra-pods have been built around
the entire circumference of the island.
Nowadays, Male Point, the only surf break
in town has a ton of backwash and
only works properly at low tide due to
the coastal armoring. The break used
to produce excellent peaks that were
magnets for swell. |
