Celebrating World Oceans Day with events on Saturday through Wednesday
World Oceans Day is on Monday, June 8. Even though here at Save The Waves we celebrate "Oceans Day" every day, it's always a great idea to have a day set aside to Love Thy Ocean. Hence, we're helping to promote a variety of events from Saturday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 10. Check out these fun events below and join us for World Oceans Day!
* Saturday, June 6, 4:30pm: our new short film Keeping Coast has its US premiere in Encinitas, CA at the La Paloma Theatre as part of the Cottonwood Creek Environmental Film Festival. 4:30pm, downtown Encinitas. BREAKING NEWS: Keeping Coast is winner of Best Short Film!
* Saturday, June 6, 1pm: Pulp, Poo and Perfection shows at the Lighthouse International Film Festival free surf film screenings at Long Beach Island, New Jersey, in association with the New York Surf Film Festival.
* Sunday, June 7, 9:30am: SF Surfrider and Oceanhealth.org host a massive beach cleanup at Judah Street in Ocean Beach, San Francisco. 9:30am to 12 noon. Starting at 9:30am, love the beach and keep it clean!
* Monday, June 8, 5:30pm: This Or That "an opportunity to consciously reflect on our connection with the earth's oceans." A party and celebration of World Oceans Day at the Triple Crown Bar at 1760 Market Street in downtown San Francisco. Sounds like an opportunity to drink beer with epic friends, also!
* Monday, June 8, 6:30pm: our new film Keeping Coast, the Sundance film End of the Line, and other short films about the ocean will show at the mini World Oceans Day Film Festival at the Montara Lighthouse near beautiful Half Moon Bay, CA. More info about this screening at www.oceanhealth.org
* Wednesday, June 10, 7pm: World Oceans Day Film Festival at the Victoria Theater in San Francisco's Mission District. Save The Waves will be here with an educational table and a post-screening discussion of our films. More info at www.oceanhealth.org
