Pulp, Poo and Perfection is a 15-minute documentary that investigates two major issues threatening surfing and water quality in Chile: Pichilemu's sewage pipeline and the South's forestry industry pollution. An adventurous drive seeking surf and solutions on the coast turns into an investigative form of surf activism searching for answers to coastal environmental problems at Chile's epic pointbreaks. Mythical waves, activists, angry fishermen, environmental problems and sharky corporate executives weave a classic South American tale of environmental action and ecological solutions. Featuring the surfing of Ramon Navarro, Shane Dorian, Congrio Colorado and Quechua.

This film premiered at the San Sebastian Surf Film Festival in June 2007 and has since gone on to be featured in over 15 international film festivals and special screenings throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, New Zealand and Chile. It continues to be in demand in environmental, activist and sports film festivals everywhere.

Together with STW’s 2005 documentary film production, Lost Jewel of the Atlantic, and our new film to be released in late 2009, All Points South, we are actively pioneering a new genre of filmmaking: environmental surf documentaries. These are films that chronicle our adventures as athlete-activists standing up for the ocean environment. As our films clearly show, surfers are the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” every time we go surfing in polluted ocean waters.
