Express your concerns about the Escalera Nautica Project - Baja California, Mexico

Sign the Petition!

To the National Government of Mexico:

We the below signed would like to express our deep concern and opposition to the proposed Escalera Nautica development project in Baja California and mainland Mexico. The construction of 12 new marinas and their surrounding development will have potentially devastating impacts on marine life and coastal ecology. In addition, the proposed marinas threaten no fewer than five world-class surfing areas – areas that are currently visited by traveling surfers from around the world.

We ask that you study the impact the proposed development will have on the marine life and environment, the local coastal villages and their economies, the beautiful natural landscape, and prime surfing areas. We believe that the current development project as planned will be destroying irreplaceable coastal environments in Baja California, beautiful locations which are the very reason tourists now visit Baja in the first place.

Please do not move forward with the Escalera Nautica project as it is currently planned. We ask that you consider alternatives for tourism development that take advantage of the natural beauty of Baja, not destroy it. Baja and its natural wonders are truly an international treasure, and should be preserved for future generations to enjoy.

Signed,

Save The Waves Coalition
