APP DATA & PARTNERS

Crowdsourcing coastal threats.

The Save The Waves App crowdsources data from coastal users (like you!) who identify coastal threats like illegal development, plastic pollution and poor water quality.

The Save The Waves App is available worldwide in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French and is currently being used in over 40 countries.

How is the data used?

This data you provide is shared with local partners and coastal agencies in our Coalition to identify and reduce threats in surf ecosystems across the globe.

With the information you provide, we can determine and implement necessary stewardship projects to preserve coastal health, such as beach cleanups or water quality management.

Our commitment to open data.

Are you working for a ocean conservation nonprofit? A student completing a thesis? Curious advocate? The data collected via our app is available to you! Just submit the application form below and we will contact you with a shareable data source.

The ALP Movement is a non-profit NGO that was founded on April 21, 2011. Our goal is to raise awareness of the protection of beaches in Portugal. We intend to encourage, especially the younger ones, so that when they leave the beaches where they have been, they can bring more than good memories. We defend that it is not necessary to belong to any type of organization or group to help nature because, “individually we can make a difference but together we are stronger”. Environmental responsibility, sustainability, ethics and group spirit are the values we uphold and believe in. Social responsibility, combined also with dedication and focus on providing a service to the environment, which responds to the urgent needs for change in the attitudes of the human being.
