250,000 Petition Signatures Raised for Punta Conejo

The campaign to protect the famous right-hand point break in Oaxaca, Mexico continues to gain ground and build opposition to a project that could destroy this beloved surf ecosystem. In just a couple of months, the petition started by Save The Waves has amassed over 250,000 opposition signatures.

Campaign Alert: Salvemos Punta Conejo!

Punta Conejo, a renowned surf break along the coastline of Southern Oaxaca, could be destroyed by the construction of a new industrial port project. The Mexican Federal Government has announced the “Development Plan for the Isthmus of Tehuantepec”, which includes the development of a new industrial port in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.

Martha Lavinia Declared Endangered Wave

Martha Lavinia is a world class beach break on King Island in Bass Strait. Known for it’s perfect ‘A-frame’ waves formed by swell wrapping around both sides of the island, Tassal has been granted a permit to explore options for a salmon farm operation immediately east of Martha Lavinia Beach.
