STWFF World Premieres in Bali & Portugal Kick Off 2017 Tour

On Friday July 28th, the Save The Waves Film Festival, presented by Corona x Parley, kicked off the 2017 tour with our first dual world premiere screenings in Bali, at Drifter Surf Shop Uluwatu, and in Europe’s only World Surfing Reserve in Ericeira, Portugal, at the Portuguese Surf Film Festival.  Both events hosted enthusiastic full house crowds who were jazzed by this year’s lineup of films, featuring an eclectic mix of filmmakers representing Australia, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Indonesia, Chile, Hawaii, New Zealand, and beyond.

The Balinese event raised funds for our friends at Project Clean Uluwatu who have been working divert waste water and trash from the cliff-side warungs in eco-responsible ways; while the Portuguese screening raised funds for ongoing stewardship of the WSR in Ericeira.

The STWFF tour comes to Europe next, with screenings in Amsterdam in partnership with the SeaSickSurf Festival 8/19 – 8/20, and in Valdovino, Spain in partnership with Costa das Ondas on 8/26.  For more information about these events, our featured films, and the rest of the international tour visit the official web page
