The California Coastal Commission struck down plans for new toll road that woudl have greatly impacted the Trestles environment. Over 3500 people turned out to the public hearing – the majority of whom were against the toll road. Commissioner Sara Wan stated, “This project drives a stake through the heart of the Coastal Act. I do not accept that there are no other alternatives.”
All of us at Save The Waves salute the California Coastal Commission for standing up to big business and protecting the public lands that we all enjoy.
